It is the time of Jackfruit and for all the halwa lovers I am introducing Jackfruit halwa. I will make it a bit tasty, this will be really delicious for all the sweet tooth out there. Its a long and time consuming process for a sweet, but worth the hard work. As jackfruit is a seasonal fruit, my mother prepares in bulk and uses for the off seasons.

Ingredients

  1. Chopped Jackfruit – 4 cups

  3. Sugar – 2 cups

  4. n

  5. Corn flour – 1/4 cup

  6. n

  7. Milk – 1 cup

  8. n

  9. Ghee – 1/4 cup

  10. n

  11. Cashew nuts – 15

  12. n

Method of preparation

  1. Add the chopped jackfruit in a blender

  2. n

  3. Blend it by adding small amount of water and make Jackfruit puree

  4. n

  5. Switch on the flame and add this puree to a kadai

  6. n

  7. Add sugar

  8. n

  9. Mix the cornflour in milk

  10. n

  11. Add milk to the kadai,when the sugar dissolves completely

  12. n

  13. Now add ghee and mix well

  14. n

  15. Cook in a medium flame until you get a thick consistency

  16. n

  17. Check the taste and add sugar and ghee as per your taste(if needed)

  18. n

  19. Roast cashew nuts in ghee and add it to kadai

  20. n

  21. Mix well

  22. n

  23. Switch off the flame when halwa consistency is reached

  24. n

  25. Allow the Halwa to cool

  26. n

  27. Our jackfruit halwa is ready to serve

  28. n

  29. Refrigerate the halwa in containers.
