Sugar Cookies

This is the simplest recipe of a three ingredient cookies.Sugar cookies may be formed by hand or can be rolled and cut into different shapes.The expected shelf life for cookies is two weeks when stored in an airtight container in your kitchen.Sugar cookies are normally soft and tender.I made it and couldn’t wait to share with you all.Even the kids at your home can make a try.Happy eating:)

Ingredients:

  • All purpose flour- 2 3/4 cups
  • Butter – 1 cup
  • White sugar – 1 1/2 cups
  • Egg – 1
  • Baking soda- 1 tspn
  • Baking powder- 1/2 tspn
  • Vanilla extract – 1 tspn

Method of preparation :

  • Preheat oven to 180°C
  • Mix all purpose flour,baking powder and baking soda in a small bowl and keep it aside
  • Take another bowl and cream together the butter and sugar
  • Beat in Egg and vanilla
  • Gradually blend the dry ingredients to this bowl
  • Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls
  • Place it on the cookie tray with sheets
  • Bake for 10 minutes,until golden colour
  • Take out from the oven,allow to cool
  • Store them in an airtight container.

Pineapple Burfi

If you are thinking of preparing a delicious sweet at home but not getting an easy recipe then this is the one for you.The main thing you want at home is only a pineapple.This recipe is that easy and delicious and I am sure it will win your guests heart.

Ingredients :

  • Pineapple (small pieces) – 2 cup
  • Scraped Coconut – 2 cup
  • Sugar – 2 cup
  • Ghee – 1/2 cup

Method of preparation:

  • Heat ghee in a Kadai
  • Grind the pineapple slices and add it to the ghee
  • Add coconut and mix well
  • Add sugar and stir till the sugar melts
  • Cook till all the moisture is absorbed
  • The mixture finally forms a lump
  • Grease an aluminum tin with ghee and transfer the mixture to tin
  • Spread it evenly and set aside to cool
  • Refrigerate for one hour
  • Cut into square and serve.

NB : Turn off the flame before the sugar melts and becomes light brown colour while cooking.

Jackfruit Halwa

It is the time of Jackfruit and for all the Halwa lovers I am introducing Jackfruit halwa.I will make it a bit tasty,this will be really delicious for all the sweet tooth out there.Its a long and time consuming process for a sweet,but worth the hardwork.As jackfruit is a seasonal fruit,my mother prepares in bulk and uses for the off seasons.

Ingredients :

  • Chopped Jackfruit – 4 cups
  • Sugar – 2 cups
  • Cornflour – 1/4 cup
  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Ghee – 1/4 cup
  • Cashewnuts – 15

Method of preparation:

  • Add the chopped jackfruit in a blender
  • Blend it by adding small amount of water and make Jackfruit puree
  • Switch on the flame and add this puree to a kadai
  • Add sugar
  • Mix the cornflour in milk
  • Add milk to the kadai,when the sugar dissolves completely
  • Now add ghee and mix well
  • Cook in a medium flame until you get a thick consistency
  • Check the taste and add sugar and ghee as per your taste(if needed)
  • Roast cashewnuts in ghee and add it to kadai
  • Mix well
  • Switch off the flame when halwa consistency is reached
  • Allow the Halwa to cool
  • Our jackfruit halwa is ready to serve
  • Refrigerate it.

Chocolate Brownie

Chocolate brownies are square or rectangular chocolate baked confection.First of all let me tell you one thing,exact measurement of ingredients is one of the main thing you must follow while making Brownie.Else you may end up with disappointment.But relax,here I will give you the correct way of preparing brownies with minimum ingredients.This recipe provides you a fudgy and chocolaty brownie with crispy edges.After Baking,you will see that the brownie is finished in no time.I prefer having hot brownies with Ice creams.

Ingredients :

All purpose flour – 3/4 cup

Cocoa powder- 1/4 cup

Sugar – 3/4 cup

Chocolate compound- 200 gm

Butter – 100 gm

Egg – 3

Vanilla Essence- 1.5 tspn

Method of preparation :

  • Take a bowl and add chocolate compound which are cut into pieces
  • Add butter to it
  • Double boil the chocolate and butter
  • Stir it using a spatula
  • After sometime,the mix melts
  • Keep it aside for cooling
  • Take another bowl,add eggs
  • Using a beater,beat the eggs
  • Add vanilla essence followed by sugar powder
  • Mix it together
  • Now add the chocolate and butter mix which is kept aside
  • Add the dry ingredients- All purpose flour and cocoa powder
  • Mix everything using a spatula
  • Line the cake tin with butter paper and pour the batter to it
  • Preheat the oven at 180°C and bake for 25 minutes
  • After 25 minutes,the perfect brownie is ready

NB : Baking time and temperature may vary as per the oven which you are using.

Dates Roll

Dates have an excellent nutrition profile.These are high in calories since it is a dried fruit.Dates are known for their high content of natural sugars. It’s interesting to notice that dried dates have a higher calorie content when compared to fresh fruit.Pregnant women who eat dates regularly have a higher chance of delivering by natural labour.Here,I am introducing a recipe of Dates along with biscuit.Hope all will love it.

Ingredients :

  • Butter – 150 gm
  • Sugar – 75 gm
  • Dates finely chopped- 250 gm
  • Biscuit(Mariegold/Arrowroot) – 200 gm
  • Egg – 1

Method of preparation :

  • Take a saucepan and add butter to it
  • After the butter gets melted,add sugar
  • Now add chopped dates when the sugar also melts completely
  • Add crushed biscuit pieces to it
  • Mix everything along with one beaten egg
  • Using a butter paper,roll this mix in the shape of a cylinder
  • Refrigerate it for 3 to 4 hours
  • After cooling,cut it into 1/2 inch small pieces
  • Our Dates Roll is ready to serve.

Carrot Halwa / Gajar ka halwa

Carrot Halwa is a sweet made using carrots .This is a winter dessert which is prepared by slow cooking grated carrot in milk along with other ingredients.This dessert is often served with a garnish of nuts and almonds.This dish is popular among adults as well as children.Carrot halwas are also served with icecream for wedding ceremonies and other functions.This is one of the easy and tasty dessert recipe which is served warm.Also,this dessert is an excellent source for Vitamin A.Let us see the recipe now.

Ingredients :

Grated carrot – 250g

Grated coconut – 1 cup

Milk – 2 cups

Sugar – 2 cup

Ghee – 2 tablespoon

Cardamom – small pinch

Nuts & Almonds – To Garnish

Method of preparation :

* Take a pan and add grated carrot and coconut

*Add milk to the pan

*Stove should be on medium flame

*Cook the carrot,milk and coconut for about 10 minutes until all the milk gets absorbed by the carrot

*Stir the contents in the pan continuously to avoid burning and sticking

*Once the carrot is cooked,add sugar

*Add ghee

*Stir it continuously for about 5 minutes

*Make sure that all the water is absorbed which is left behind by sugar

*Dry roast the content until the colour of the carrot fades slightly

*Turn off the stove and transfer the Carrot Halwa to a greased plate

*Roast the Almonds and nuts in ghee

*Garnish the carrot halwa using roasted Almonds and nuts

*Carrot Halwa is ready to serve.
